I had a portable GPS unit from my last car Garmin Nuvi 350 and wanted to mount it in the Altima and yet keep it hidden. This is what I came up with..



With the console closed...



I did run an external antenna up the dash (were the dash and windshield meet). I still can remove unit for updates and to use in other cars since I used part of the windshield mount as my hardmount....

what about being able to see the unit though... looking there is def not safe lol..

I agree. Unless its got voice directions; even then it would be tough.

Its still looks nice though
