Anyone here have experience wiring up remote starts? I have to install one in a 2003 Maxima, and the problem is, when you hit the start button, the engine will crank but not fire. You can get in, turn the key over, and then pull it out and it will continue running, until you hit the break or raise the hood, then it will shut off like its supposed to do. Just not figuring out why it won't turn over with the remote.

Hello, Josh.I ran to the exact same problem when trying to install the remote start for my mom's 2000 Camry a couple years ago. What prevent the engine from starting with out the key is because of the transponder inside the key. Your car might need is an immobilizer bypass module. Check out this article below from Autotoys.com for the installation for a 2002 Maxima. Hope you find some informations there. Good luck!
