Remote Starters

Does anyone have any experience with remote starters for a 2006 M35x? The dealer wants $700 but Best Buy sells units for $200 installed.

I just need remote starting not security or any other features.

I was under the impression that since we have an immobilizer, in which a sensor reads the signal of the key in order to start, that we could not use a remote starter. I guess Im looking forward to hear what others have seen or used that will bypass this.

From what i understand you have to purchase a second key from the dealer. Then the installer will somehow mount the chip in the car so that the car thinks the keys are in the ignition. It's hard next to the impossible if you have the Smartkey. I have an '03M45 and that what was told to me by a local and very reputable installer. I hope this helps
