hey all, any one ever had a remote starter installed and then have any eletrical issues? had the dealer drop off our 10'G37x w/ a newly installed remote and as the guy's tryinf to explain how it works things start to go very wrong. can't shut the car off, windows will go down when door is opened but not go back up! hit the off button and car doesn't shut off, and then hit the radio button and then the of button and car shuts off1 wow was i  . And yes, he took the car back w/ him and left the loaner. we have to call the dealer ship in the morning when they open to have it taken back out. just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this happening? thanks.

wow!!!

i have thought about a remote start for a year... been kinda nervous to get one installed because the push button start and engine imobilizer in the G is pretty complex, and was scared of something like that happening...

i think your post just set me back another year lol

i would think as long as what ever wires were spliced into are correctly recconnected your problems should go away.

Was there a bypass module installed? im sure they couldnt just bypass the RF id on the key without something... that might be the whole problem...

well a different shop might be able to do it, but im sure you need some sort of bypass module to get pass the engine immobilizer/RF key...

hopefully everything is back to normal for you

I've been shopping around for a new car and finally settled on a G37x. Just waiting for them to get the color I want. In my search it's strange to find that pretty much every other maker offers keyless ignition with remote start except Nissan/Infiniti. While not a deal breaker for me it is very disappointing.

the car is very nice and my wife loves hers. she really wanted the remote but too much of a PIA to go through and i don't trust them after the crap we went through. the thing i don't like about the car which we didnt know until this crap happened is that you can drive the car off w/ out having the key/transponder even in the car. the car just comes up saying "warning no key" and you put it in gear away you go. so lock your doors if you ever leave the car running while your not right near it.

I'm almost certain that you are not supposed to be able to do that. I think you may have some kind of RF ID bypass still in effect on the car from the original attempt at the remote starter installation. The no key warning is intended to alert the driver that the car cannot be driven.

Yeah, looks like I was wrong. Other sub-forums here indicate you can drive until you run out of gas or turn the car off. And, yes, that is really stupid.

I had a smart start installed in my 2010 QX56, it use my Iphone, it'll start, lock, unlock, and the rear hatch using my phone. If you don't have the key(transmitter) in your pocket to turn the ignition on,when you step on the brake, it'll shut off, so far works great. I think they were able to program the module, with my remote, because they didn't have to use an extra key(transmitter)., and all accessories (heat/ac etc.) work when you remote start it.

see that would have been nice, but they told me(dealer) that they had to install it so it wouldn't interfer w/ the car warranty and then i found out they out soruced it anyways to a radio guy. at least some one has a good remote. :yesnod
