ok, first of all, i searched first, before you start flaming at me.

I want to install the remote starter I bought into my 1989 240 (auto).

What i need to know is where to hook up the wires from the harness. Thanks in advance.

I also want to use the 'AUX 3' function to turn on the rear window defroster in the winter. Thanks again.

If im unclear just let me know.

It is a Autostart ProGuard (PG-SYSTEM-2)

You will not use both of the door trigger inputs. Only the "Negative Door Trigger Input" because your car uses ground based door triggers. The other wire is for a car that uses (+) for the door triggers.

Door locks use a special circuit using a two-pole relay and a diode. Check this out:

If that seems like too much, you can dig into the driver's door, and tap into the wires prior to the door lock controller. This is a little more conventional way of doing things but you have to feed wires thru the door which sucks.

As far as "ignition input", I'm guessing that you are looking for switched power (+ when the key is on). You mentioned remote-start alarm, so you may be looking for the main ignition wire off of the key switch. Let me know which one you need and I should be able to find it for you.

As far as locations for all of these wires, start in the logical places, then test with a test light or multi-meter. You can also look at this website

http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/

Look up your car and they have a page with locations and wires for all of the different wires you will need.

My final word of advise would be that car alarms, especially remote-start alarms, are very in depth and require advanced electrical knowledge. Very rarely will everything work the way it seems it should. Instructions always suck and the job will require some troubleshooting. Trust me, just did it tonight with my brother's Civic.

I'll help where I can. Good luck!

For your rear window defrost you will need to wire up a relay. I assume you will be using a (+) output that stays on constantly until the alarm is disabled.

Pin #85=Comes from your alarmPin #86=GroundPin #30=(+)12vPin #87A=Blue-Red wire

You will have to find the defrost relay and tap into the Blue-Red wire there. If you take off from the switch it most likely will not work without the key on.

I would be thinking the 'ign input' should get power when the car is in the Run position. But im not sure. anyways i dont think i should tap into my ign for that anyway, i would rather draw off something like my cig lighter or something.

Thanks for your help tho, I really had no idea where to start, and now i do.

ok i ran into anouther problem. Where should i mount the receiver in my 240? Under the dash wouldnt work because there is no place to mount. The only thing I can see is under the hood, on the firewall, but then i would have to run everything through the firewall. Am I missing something? lol. There is not that many options on this small of a car.
