that clears i up for me I think... ok, when you install a remote starter in our cars, there's two ways that you can do it... one of them includes using the factory kill switch (not recomended by DEI, AUTOPAGE, or other big name companies)
the reason this method of installation is not recommended is because with the factory kill switch connected, when you get in and press the brake pedal, the car will turn off, thus causing you to have to turn the car back on.. which as you mentioned defeats the purpose of a remote start system.
the CORRECT way to install your remote start should have been to disengage the factory kill switch and use the aftermarket alarm's kill switch. by doing so, you can set the car up to remote start, and then, when you get in your car, you just hit the brake pedal (AND DO NOT HAVE TO PRESS THE START BUTTON) and the vehicle will automatically switch from OFF to ACC to ON, and then you can just drive off
so, the bottom line is that if , after you start the car via remote start, you can not just get in, and press the brake pedal, and the car does not automatically go from OFF-> ACC-> ON... then your shop installed your remote start alarm incorrectly! Same goes for that other NIssan they say they worked on as well!
