I had an Automate remote start installed in my 2005 Pt Cruiser a month go and I use it every morning. So far no problems. The only thing I noticed was that it holds the starter a few seconds longer than it needs to start the car, if you know what i'm trying to say, (cranks too long). I noticed this also on a 2012 civic with an Avital kit installed. I would also go to a reputable shop that installed these. I had mine installed at Sounds Incredible in Connecticut. Do not go to Best Buy or any big place like that. Half the time the people do not know what they're doing.

You can jerry-rig them to work on M/T, by bypassing the clutch safety switch and just remembering to park it in neutral.

What system did you get?

The only way there would be problems is if the installer has minimal knowledge of the techno wizardry that is electronics..

With that said, that is something i wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole lol.

I have the DW st-800 system sitting underneath my bed, been there for over a year now. You may have just sparked my interest into getting it installed!

Fascinating the way so many electric things can be rigged to work..
