I got my compustar 4200dx remote starter installed yesterday on my 2008 Rogue SL awd (non- intellikey). Everything seems to be working fine but after remote starting it, the red key light keeps blinking after I put my key in the ignition and drive. Is this common? or something was not installed properly

I am not sure if all the remote starters work with the same principle but mine works like this:

By pressing the button, start the engine.
Unlock the car by pressing the remote on Nissan key.
As soon as you enter the car PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL and the car will stop working. (It is a safety feature. anti theft)
After the engine stops INSERT YOUR KEY.
Then start the car.

If you insert the key before the engine stops, then I can see a red key light in the instrument panel like you did.

Does installing an aftermarket remote starter void vehicle warranty? I just picked up a 2012 SV FWD and want to install a remote starter but am hesitant to risk voiding y warranty should something happen in the future...

If it's installed by a qaulified shop it shouldn't void the warranty. It wouldn't hur to check with your Nissan shop like I did, they recommended only 1 install shop in town that they claimed was certified to do a Nissan warranty-approved install. I'm not really sure how they evaluated if the shop was "certified" or "qualified" while other shops were not, I should have asked for details. Sorry I couldn't be more holp, but I think your Nissan service shop would be the best to consult with prior to moving forward and I'm sure you'll be able to get a remote start installed and still maintain your warranty. If you learn anything new please let us know, thank you!
