there's a reason places charge a lot to do it. it's because you are messing with the cars electrical system when you do it.
Stratokat wrote:hey i need to figure this out too! i have an auto page 900 and no shop around here will hook it up because its manual[which is understandable] but im not an idiot, and i wont leave it in gear.
does anyone know how to install it/ a place in so cal that will do it?
You may not be an idiot and leave it in gear but things happen. I saw some one use a rem start on a manual car (was made 4 an auto) and he started his car up and right over an enbankment and into a building. enough said.
On the better note however, I work at CircuitCity as an installer so I can walk you through doin it most likely. How ever you should really look into purchasing a proper remote start for a manual transmission to be safe. I purchased mine from Compustar for about $200 and it is worth every penny, it does both auto and manual just by changing a wire.
Any Way on to the important parts. abdow U r doing just a remotestart not alarm correct? Does your car have factory security? Power locks? Power Windows?
I ask these things because I can pull up the specific wires n locations for you wen I go into work tonight and then try and give u a better writeup tonight.
I Will Look up the 93 240sx then.
One last note****DON'T GO CHEAP ON A REMOTE STARTER BRAND BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD DEAL. YOU MAY BE HIGHLY RISKING YOUR VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO PROBLEMS AND ALSO PUTTING YOURSELF AT GREAT RISK***
Look for a reputable brand. Like I said, I've worked with Compustar and own one. They are great choice and designed specifically to do manual transmissions so that the car will never start if left in gear or no e-brake up.
