remote start quastion please help

I have a q 45 2002 with the smart key i just installed remote starter and I have a small problem that bugs me. If I start the car with my remote when I get to the car I cant put in my smart key and turn it to ignition to drive, I ether have to push the brakes to turn off the car and turn it on again or I can put in that metal key that’s inside the smart key then the key turns to ignition and I don’t have to turn the car of.The remote is by audiovox asp 997.Does any one else has the same problem with their remote starter with smart key? Did the installer Screw-up or is this the only way?Ill appreciate any feedback thanks.
