OK... illl give lil info..95Q....Viper 791XVWindow, Door lock and Unlock module, And module to hook to horn!I got a Viper certified ppl to install it

Problems im having is: Sometimes remote start is tripping. EXAMPLE: car starts, then 10 secs later cuts off, and tries to restart. Then cuts off, then tries to restart again! And tries to restart again, and sometimes it stops trying because setting is set for 3 times. And sometimes, it will stay on for the 10 mins that its supposed to.I dont know whats caausing this,,... im confsed because the car does start and runs for about 10 secs, so i know its not my battery, starter altenator.. so im lost.

NExt thing, my cruise control will not set all of a sudden. I turn it on, and set it on the steering wheel. On the speedometer, the cruise light comes on, and cuts right off. Doesnt cruise or nothing. It aknowledges the SET button, just doesnt stay there...

WHATS WRONG PPL??

What you're saying is, the remote start system doesn't know the vehicle is already running?

How long since the install? The remote start uses the tach. wire to know when the car starts - but I would think the starter would be running throughout your 10 seconds if it wasn't getting that signal.

Is your idle excessively high during this time (say creeping above 3K RPM?) because the Viper may also shut down if the RPMs go too high.

No... RPM is normal.... Its crazy... The car starts normal. Like there isnt a problem. It runs for about 10 secs, then retry.. Then shut off then retry. About the tech... i hope he connected it to a tach. I heard there were three ways to connect the remote start.!

Did it ever work - or it's been doing this since you picked it up?

The only other thing you might check, is to make sure that the shut off isn't timed with the park lights flashing. I had a rear bulb where the tips had melted together, so when the viper flashed the park lights, the brake lights came on too. The viper would shut down as if someone had pressed the brake pedal without putting the key in. The fact that yours trys to restart tells me that it's probably not getting it's "the engine is running" signal from the tach or wherever he hooked it up.

Could be faulty equipment or faulty install. I can't tell you how many people I've known who rip their hair out because of gremlins showing up after aftermarket installs.

Had my Excalibur alarm installed back in 98' in the Bronx, NYC. During the install, the tech broke my glove box and gouged the trim around the shifter. I reached to open the glove box while driving and it fell down. Took it back and had hell convincing them it wasn't broken before, but I asked them where that existed on their check off list. They eventually relented and sprung for a new glove. Good thing in all this is that he actually did a good job on the Alarm itself. Never had a hitch.

I took it back, and found out they had the star on some kind of computer thing to where it would recognize its on within 10secs, and if it doesnt it would retry. I told the guy to take that off and connect it direcly to the tachometer (or however u spell it). He refused. He said it could damage my car, and my transmission could go out. And my car may not act the same because of it. Then i told him, i already had the passenger side cleared for him. i had already taken off the glove box. And lifted the carpet.. and had the drivers side clear and pen as well. He then looked at it and did it. I feel he was being a lazy bum because he didnt wanna take my stuff apart. And i feel em, cause i dont want him taking my stuff apart. He break, HE WONT BUY.. all he'll say is OOOPPPSSS!!! and try to hide it.! Well so far so good, car starts properly now.! I wish i coulda took this to someone who werked alarms on Q45s... but where im from, if u ask if they have werked on Q45s before, they will say yes. And lie and say one just left the shop. But when u get there,..they dont know how to take a door panel off.!oh well... Long day!

Got in on this one a little late. Glad you got it working. In case you need any more info on your vehicle in regards to installing an alarm here is a link to one of the install guides on my site. Guide says it's a black/green wire in the passenger kick panel at the ECM. Is that the one you used? If not I can add your wire to the guide as a possibility. I have a remote start in my car but it's been so long I can't remember what color the tach wire was.
