I'm trying to install a Clifford Matrix Remote Start on my '95 240SX SE Manual, I've got everything hooked up properly I believe, and the remote start tries to start, but the starter won't crank. The instruction manual says that if the car as an immoblizer, that could cause the system to try and start and the starter to never crank. I'm thinking that the stock alarm may have something to do with what's going on. If anyone knows anything about this, I would much appreciate someone hitting me back. I'm fiending for my remote start, and it's killing me that I'm so close yet so far. If anyone knows what's going on and would be kind enough to contact me directly, my email is [email protected] Thanks. :help

I don't think you can have a remote start on a manual. Since you have to press the clutch to start it in the first place! the remote start is for auto only... (I could be wrong though)

ok, first off.. gorgeous 240. secondly, I wish you were right, but I've already taken care of the clutch, you can get around having to push it in to start the car, it's just a switch that the clutch presses when engaged. i'm relatively sure it has something to do with the stock alarm, hopefully I'll be able to find out tomorrow when I go and talk to the dealer about it. Thanks for trying though, I appreciate it.

hey I have a remote starter on my 240 LE.

Yep, fix the clutch switch and that will take care of the problem as posted by Black240.

Now, when I was installing my remote starter, I had a problem with the remote starter too. Did you hook up the TWO starter relays? Our 240s have 2 starters and my problem was that with one of the relays, I had the starter output from the relay going into the ignition harness. This is wrong. Once I wired the starter output to the starter side, everything worked!!

let me know how you wired it!

ahhhhh.. ok, I didn't realize that. I'm pretty sure that I've got mine wired the way you were saying yours didn't work. So now all I've got to do is go and locate that second starter wire and wire to it instead and hopefully I'll be good to go. If you wouldn't mind, if you come back, please send me and email @ [email protected] so I can talk with you a little more in depth about it should I need to, I really really appreciate it. Thanks Again, James.
