Does anyone have suggestions, pros or cons about installing a remote start in a 2006 M35? I talked to 2 dealers who gave me 2 different opinions.

Welcome to Nico!

There have been several discussions regarding remote start - most of it not all that great, I'm afraid. If you type 'remote start' in the little search box, you will see posts from various members about this. here is one example:

One dealer did tell me that there are a lot of electrical fires because of the wiring issue.
Thanks so much for the answers people are giving!

A lot? No. Happens? Yes. Why? Lazy and incompetent installers.

Great point, TDot! If you guys are going to add this, remember you can't just pull into any garage and expect them to do it correctly (no matter what they may tell you). It might be safer to talk to a service technician at the dealership who has installed this before and see if he/she is willing to do it for you off duty at a reduced rate. You may not get a warranty on the product or installation, but you will know a qualified technician did the work.
