Hello
I have a question, does anyone know of a professional shop for installing remote start for infiniti cars? my vehicle is the 2006 infiniti m35x and i live in Michigan. I contacted the local infiniti dealer and they said they dont install remote start and suggested some aftermarket shops which i dont trust playing with my car's electronics ....Thanks.
mo.

Where in Michigan? It's a big place.

That being said, you *may* be able to do it yourself if you have DIY skills...the FSM on this forum (see sig) will help you with figuring out what to do.

Unfortunately, I can't offer any info on shops other than what you'd see on online reviews.
Usually I ask the dealerships where they get it done and do a little research on their recommendations. If this is a business with a storefront, I get a little more confidence, especially if the dealership would steer you there.
Plus, remote starts systems have become very common these days. I'd like to believe most audio shops that get the license actually know what they're doing.

If you are feeling a ltitle DIY-ish, here's a write up from the M37 subforum:

I know some M35/M45s have remote starts, but I don't think I've seen any posting of where they got it done or how much it cost.

Here's Fortin's website, and there is a pdf of how to install their product. I am pretty sure any reputable auto stereo shop could follow those directions and set this up for you if you're not feeling up to the task.
I also saw an AutoToys YouTube video of their remote starter for an M35: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUCo5LqiDbU

I had them put in an aftermarket stereo with navigation/bluetooth and a backup camera in my son's 2009 Xterra - they were professional, quick and clean: no complaints. It was about $400.

You may want to ask your service rep (dealer) if he can put you in touch with a service tech who has experience with remote starts on Infiniti cars. Lots of techs will do work on your car in their spare time. Jeffery, my service rep hooked me up with one of the techs for a special project. I sold my 1968 Caddy Fleetwood recently and that guy planned to install an air horn instead of the stock 4-note horns. I gave him a small discount on the purchase and he gave me the set of horns that came with the car. No longer available, it's a set of three normal looking horns and one long horn - each tuned to the notes A C D F. They make a brilliant and forceful sound. They discontinued these back in the 80s I believe.
