Hi all,

I'm interested in installing the two options that are not available on my nissan that drive me nuts. Remote start and heated seats. I have a 2008 Versa SL with the iKey.

I'm looking at a few DIY kits for remote start including one from readyremote.com, but I'm open to suggestions. I've found in another NICO forum that the pushbutton start Nissan models need the DLPK bypass module. Anyone have any experience installing one in their car? Any lessons learned?

For the heated seats I'm open to suggestions. My local custom shop wants $199 per seat to install the basic kit. I've found these kits for $60. I do have the time to figure this out, but I'd like to know if anyone here has tried this. Again any horror stories? Any successes? Or am I the only Versa owner who wants a warm rear?

I have heard that its a pain in the a** to for remote start because of the iKey sensor that knows it is/isn't inside the car.

Your best bet is to go to your local radio shop and ask them what they can do about it..

I like you would love a remote start. I had it in my previous car and loved it. We could not get an ikey when I bought my Versa here in Canada. Maybe the 2010's have it now here. Anyways, dealership said not a good idea to get a remote start installed somewhere else as it could void my warranty, and they don't install it themselves either. So I'm not going to install one on the Versa.

Also as per heated seats, that would be a nice feature. Especially where I live ... it's been a very cold winter. But I can live w/out it. If I really needed that feature I could have purchased a dif't car.

I had my remote starter installed by my dealer. (I am in Canada)

Works fine, but the Remote starter does not activate/desactivate the factory car alarm.

So If I lock the car using the Nissan remote and unlock the door using my car starter remote , the Alarm will go "ON"
