Remote start affecting immobilizer system

I recently bought a 2010 pathfinder with a inoperable remote start installed aftermarket. No fobs came with car. I noticed when I lock vehicle, security indicator light never comes on and I can't get car to alarm with open window trick either. I also cannot get it in program mode to program keyless entry fob. Do you think a wire is cut somewhere in nats system? Or possibly a immobilizer bypass unit in there somewhere with key in it? Would this cause factory security to be nonfunctional all the time? I appreciate any ideas...

I do have one keyless entry fob that came with car that is fully functional, even panic works. Car also honks and lights flash when locking with fob. It did not come with the remote start fob.

Welcome to NICO.

Check all your door switches (the little black rubber things in the door jambs). If one is damaged or malfunctioning, it can prevent the alarm from arming. The only way you would be able to arm the alarm in such case is with the key fob.

Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about remote start systems, especially aftermarket ones and how they would interface with the vehicle. Sorry I can't be of further use in that regard.

I checked fuse and fusible links...good. Door actuators all seem to work as dome light goes on and off with press and release of each even though drivers door switch when pressed takes longer for light to go out then other three. I think there may be a hidden key or key circuit under dash as some remote starts require immobilizer bypass unit that you put a key in permanently to trick the truck into thinking your key is in ignition which would keep immobilzer disabled I would think? I will look tomorrow, thanks for replys as I am open to any feedback

no i dont think the ibobiliser system would affect the key being out
