I want to buy another remote for my J30 and see there are sellers on eBay that are auctioning them for a reasonable price. I have verified that the FCCIDs are the same as mine, but need to know how to program it. Does anyone know how to do this?

Wes, So if the remote is operating correctly the windows will come down when i hold the unlock button? if so mine does not work i can open the doors, the trunk, turn on the lights and sound the alarm but that is it. can i use the instructions to reset it and then maybe the windows will come down?

What do you do to sound the alarm and roll down the windows? I didn't know either of these were options!

Another question: I just got a keyless nob from ebay, it doesn't beep when I press the buttons. Are the keyless nobs supposed to beep if you press the buttons? Does this mean my battery is dead?

New issue: I got a remote off of eBay today and was able to program it with no problem. However, now the original remote won't work! I followed the directions to a 'T' with popping the trunk, locking the doors, entering and removing the key 6 times in 10 seconds and then hitting the lock button. That seems to transfer the programming from one remote to the other. I then tried to program both at the same time but repeating steps 4 and 5 per the instructions, but it didn't work. If anyone cal tell me what else needs to be done I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

OK, I think I know what the problem is. Looking in the service manual it says when using the remote programming instructions and entering a new remote code while in "entry mode", the previous 3 remote IDs will be deleted. It says that if you want to add a remote (not replace it), the code needs to be entered manually. Does anyone know how to do this?

What you do is repeat step 4 and 5 (manually unlock and lock) then press the lock button on the remote...

I was able to program it, but as I said, once I do it deletes the existing remote's code. The instructions for the J30 appears to make a distinct difference between "entry mode" and entering the code "manually". Per the instructions, when you add a remote code while in entry mode, it will delete the 3 previous codes. I'll go step by stem giving explicit details regarding what I did. Let me know if there's something missing or wrong:

1) I popped the trunk using the trunk release on the driver's side door2) With all doors closed on the car, I locked them using the power door lock located on the driver's side door3) I inserted and removed the key into the ignition 6 times, leaving it out on the 6th time4) I manually unlocked and locked the driver's side door by unlocking and locking the chrome door lock on the driver's side door5) I then hit the door lock button on the remote I wanted to add. The car responded by sounding the alarm6) I again manually unlocked and locked the driver's side door by unlocking and locking the chrome door lock on the driver's side door7) I again hit the door lock button on the second remote I wanted to add, but got no response.

Please let me know if there is someting missing or wrong in what I did. At this point my only other option is to have the dealer do it if I can't figure it out. Thanks for your help.
