Remote Lock/Unlock behavior

When I lock or unlock my car (01 i30), should I expect more happening to the car than what I get? Currently, when I lock, the parking lights just blink once. When I unlock, only the interior dome light comes on.

I am more used to headlights flashing/horns honking in these situations. Is this normal for this car?

There is a button sequence on the back of your remote to turn the horn beep on when you lock it. I had the same problem with mine when I first bought it a few years ago. Mine also blinks the parking lights when I unlock it as well.

Thanks A33...as you referred to, instructions were indeed on the back of the fob. Held lock and unlock together for 2 seconds and it now honks when I lock and the parking lights blink when I unlock.
