I was looking at the infiniti parts section and a guy is selling a remote key thingy. I was wondering if i had to goto a dealer to set this. I had a key made for my car and they gave me the numbers for that. Wonder if there is any association.

I don't have the answer and perhaps infinititech can answer but in the meantime why not call the service department and ask if you brought in an extra remote how much for them to program it for your vehicle?

Only if you allow it!The very first time you go for service to a dealership where you've never been before take care of the service advisor $$$. They will always remember you and there will be no need for them to boost your charge in order for them to make an extra $10 or $20.Learned that from my father a long time ago

My sister just bough a used '07 Altima with a couple thousand miles from a Nissan dealer, and the owner didn't turn all the remotes back in when they returned it. But they told her if she can get another remote, they will re-program it for $250. That's insane. She didn't do it, but it sucks because she only has one. No spare. She was too mad to ask about buying one from them.

Why doesn't the web community search anymore?

If everyone searched for their answers on their own instead of posting on a NICO forum...where would our lovely community be?

Perhaps people just like posting and talking here instead of hitting up Google!

Go check out the Maxima/I30 forum and the 240SX forum. 80% of the threads are about how to fix something. That's one of the reasons I wanted the FAQ section to be revamped here in the G35 forum, because the same questions were being asked over and over again.

Oh I know...I get tired of seeing the same questions over and over (tires, oil, octane, etc). The search on NICO is a little strange...countless times I have tried to find posts that I KNOW I read here but just can't pull them up with the search. It really needs to not search signatures...

It looks like the search feature searches for keywords outside of the thread Title and Heading, which means it will pull up crap from other forums if you aren't specific.

Ok, I have come to the realization that there are two ways to search NICOclub. I was always using the Google search bar with NICOclub.com selected and I couldn't even pull up this topic by subject.

I did the same search with the actual search function integrated into the forums and found the thread instantly.

User error...and I'm a computer tech...go figure.

No worries Grant. It's because you spend more time on here than working

I hope you found your answer Teflon...

Telcoman:Unfortunately I believe the days of getting good service were washed away with the hippie generation. Your father was right to teach you that you should "butter up" the service advisor in the beginning so that they remember you, but your father lived in a time when quality and service were paramount. I'm on my 3rd service advisor in as many months... lately, this generation changes jobs like underwear so you never know who you're going to get the next time. I'm not going to invest $10 in baked goods to take to my service advisor if he's going to decide to be a Kirby salesman the next month!

If you just need instructions on programing the remote I can get you that for FREE. I bought an extra remote and it came w/ instructions...programmed it myself & it works great. Just email me.
