I just bought a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder in Austalia. The remote entry key fobs are not working. Battery in the fobs checks OK. I downloaded the service manuals for the car but they are for Left hand drive vehicles and I can not find a connection to the Smart Entrance control unit that matches the Left hand drive vehicles. I tried the reset procedure for the fobs using the insert the key in the ignition six times procedure but I never get the warning lights to illuminate.

Anybody know where the smart entrance module is located on the Right hand drive vehicles? I don't see any connectors that seem to match what is in the service manual. I am looking on the right hands side under the dash at the steering column.

What is the model & FCC ID of the remote(s) you are trying to use?

Ufortunately there is no identification on the remotes that is still readable.

You can finda picture of the remotes at this link: https://plus.google.com/photos/10010081 ... 2125645154

Hope this helps

FWIW, that's note the remote that used on an '01 Pathfinder in the USA. The battery isn't a hatch like that,
you pop the two halves of the remote apart.

And would a remote sent to Oz have an FCC number? That's a US thing.

I am guessing that the question on the fobs was to see what type they are as there are different systems used depending on the options on the Pathfinder. You ae right about not need FCC approval in Australia.
