I am new to the forum so please bear with me. I have a 1996 300ZX coupe and cannot program a clone remote control. When pushing the ignition key in and out 6+ times within 10 seconds the flashers are supposed to flash, but they don't. I have tried this numerous times and numerous ways with several keys and it just isn't going to happen. The only thing that has changed in the electrical system is the radio. I removed the stock Bose radio and separate CD player last year and installed a Pioneer combination unit. I purchased a wiring harness adaptor and wired in all of the connections that apply to the Pioneer from the radio harness and the radio works fine. There were wires on the radio harness that did not need to be connected and, of course, the CD player harness was not used in the installation. My question is this: are there any specific wires on the radio and/or CD harnesses that need to be looped or be connect to something else that could have an effect on the remote control unit and/or the anti-theft unit? (The anti-theft unit does have at least two connection points to the remote control but these are direct connections. The radio theft switch is only used on the Z convertible). I have gone through the multi-remote controller, radio, and anti-theft wiring diagrams and have not found a definite link that might have an effect, but there may be one that I have not identified. The diagrams provide information on the unit connections but don't tell me much about the harnesses themselves. The theft system on the car works properly according to the security light on the dash. All of my fuses are good. I appreciate any help anyone can provide. Once I receive replies to this post I plan to embark on a remote control unit troubleshooting process that includes checking all of the various switches that are connected to the unit. Thanks for your help.
