Remote no longer works even after changing button battery. Bought 2 new remotes and try to program them but pathfinder wouldn't take. Power door lock, etc still works. So does that mean the signal receiver or maybe some sort of relays went bad? anything i can do myself or i have to take it to a stealer to get this fixed?

Mine stopped working a week ago, and I changed the batteries as well. The key fob still doesn't work, so I'm gonna check my fuses. Perhaps we both have a blown fuse.

well, just found out tonite another real weird thing. When the engine running or if key in ACC position, when i press the power door lock button to lock (both driver and fron pass), it would make a locking motion but then immediately unlock everything. When the engine is off or if not in ACC position the power door lock button works as it should.... hmmm must be some sort of electronic gremlin going on. Anyone seen this with their pathy?

Inspect all your door switches, if any are busted replace them with junkyard switches.

alll the windows and door switches work. I think the problem is more centrally located. Hate to have to bring this into a shop to look at but the way i see it unless someone has a good idea, i have no choice ;(...

See page EL-321 of the factory service manual for some trouble diagnoses. Try to follow it as best as you can.

read thr that pdf. There is something call key reminder door system, which if a door is open, when you hit the lock switch, it will lock but then unlock immediately. My pathy was acting like a door was open so i checked all the door sensors. Sure enough there was one door sensor (at the door which was somehow slightly misaligned caused by the prior owner, who knows what he did) that was not pushed in enough. It turns out that it seems to be pushed in far enough to turn off the door open light on the dash but not all the way enough to tell the system that door is close. So i folded up a piece of paper and taped it against the door and the sensor is now completely pushed in. sure enough, everything then worked as expected. turned out my old remote was also bad. But i was now able to program the new remotes. So everything is now good. The end ;)

Thanks for the report back. All too often we don't get feedback.
