No one knew that using the clutch fan with a fwd CA water pump would result in a destroyed pump? God I went through so many pumps! And I was sooo angry!! I was looking at my first threads on this forums and was surprised to see that not a whole lot of them were particularly noob. I thought my thread about water pumps was hilarious though.

zerothread?id=12000

I actually did get all of my subsequent pumps free though. I'm still using a FWD DE pump to this day!

I'm really bored and just thought I would share...

Remember when people couldn't get their CAs to run right or even start because they failed to read the stickies or didn't bother to search for the information that could help them with their dilemmas? Oh snap , that's still the case around here .

Rough, isn't it man? I seem to remember it taking me a few tries to get my car to fire up, but when it did it always ran like a champ. I never had problems with it not revving out. Now it seems that every day I tell people the same damn thing. Try.....this, this, this and this, then get back to me.

Man, Ive been running a FWD CA pump with the RWD pulley for years with no problems. Just so long as you don't put the RWD clutch fan on with the FWD pump.

I dunno how you guys would notice it. when I got my rwd ca18 i noticed straight away almost none of my fwd pullies would work. My fwd pump has a differant sized centering piece

Instead i couldn't figure how to correctly tighten my Tbelt and shredded liek 3 of them within the first week of running

Well the centering hole bit is bigger on the RWD pulley, so I didn't really notice. Had it been the other way around, the problem would have never arisen.

Does this post apply to this pump? I'm curious because I installed it on my car last week. Thanks.

Damn, its been a long *** time hasnt it? what 5-6 years since we all first got our Ca's and started figuring stuff out. wiring up knock sensors. figuring out that emanage early on was crap setup on our motors because of a glitch in the software. being stoned and seeing a Pterodactyl humping a space ship on TV.figuring out that a Ka clutch can work, running 20w50 oil synthetic changing it every week because i had shot *** rings. now i run 10w40 advance brand and beat the hell out of the car and it still purrs. ditching the cold start valve because you cant find a good one anywhere. going through 10 CAS before getting a good one.

if it werent for the Ca18 i would have never actually worked on my 240 thus never opening up my own shop where we currently have about 16-20 240sx getting various swaps and service. I have only one Ca customer/friend local and he bought it because he used to drool over my stock looking car before he really knew me.
