well i did it again. twice. in one day.

here's the result of the first cleaning

the datsun, as it sits now

pile 'o parts

then i took a break for a while to do some shopping. came home with this

oh, hello thar

there a bunch of misc. parts that came with it that i didn't get pics of. i have a stand, but i had to return the hoist that the dude let me borrow and i could only find one bolt that was long enough and the right thread, so it stayed on the ground. i have another hoist that showed up yesterday, but i still need 3 more bolts. after staring at it for a while, we said "f*** it" and got some beer and ordered pizza. and this happened...

this is going to be a busy summer.

The garage looked clean and spacious in the first pic, then after you started taking things apart it looks like you are running out of space with parts everywhere. It definitely looks like you're gonna have a busy summer .

Looks good Tito.

I HAVE to clean mine today. I need to do a head swap that I have been putting off, and now I need to replace timing chain guides on my Daily 240sx.

cam lobes show zero wear and aside from a little bit of carbon build-up, the cylinder walls look like mirrors (cell phone pics suck a**). i'll have the head cleaned up and get some new valve seals in there. the turbo needs new seals and the freddy intake needs a cleaning. i have to go through all my crap and see what i am keeping and what needs to go.

i know, but it was too good a deal to pass up. plus, with purchase, i was also granted full access to the guy's garage and tools. with a sandblaster in his shed, every tool i could ever need, and his mechanical know how (he's a helicopter mechanic for sikorsky), i think i made out alright. all this, <5 minute drive from my house.

no vtak, but it does have vtc on the intake. i'm still trying to find a way to conirm whether it is in fact a neo or not. the gauge cluster has neo6 written on it and the exhaust side vc has r34 written on it. the coil pack cover has no writing on it, which makes me believe that they installed blanks since they would be covered up by the plastic neo cover anyhow.

If it is a neo motor it will have solid lifters just like all rb26's.

Edit: it also looks like it has the electric throttle body

i'm pretty excited to get going. the dude i got it from was going on about a cage and doing all these things for >450hp. i don't think i'll be going that high in such a light car that will only be on sunday cruising duty. that being said, it's going in mostly stock to begin.

Its gonna be a sick weekend car man. Yeah anything over 450 in that would be more trouble then anything for a cruiser, especially if you were out in it and got caught in the rain. The rear end would be all over the place.lol

I cant wait to get my RB buttoned up.Ive just been to lazy to get out there a finish it.Plus i dont like working on it out in the cold.
