Original incident:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3GlEe1kCHACop asks kid where he's going. Cop gets belligerent. Cop threatens to make up charges and arrest the kid. He backs off when he realizes the kid is filming.

Follow-up:Local St George police begin harassing the kid and stalking him.

Follow-up:Worried about its national reputation as a place to avoid along I-55, the city decided to dissolve the local police department and use services from St Louis County instead.

Bonus:The chief of the former St George police department was arrested for child sex charges.http://www.ksdk.com/news/local...92199A decade ago, he tried to proposition a 17 year old he pulled over for a quickie. The charges have to do with something he did with a 14 year old.

It is frightening when you think about how much corruption is out there that you don't know about.

Never saw that video but have had similar stuff happen to friends and i in the past. Sadly for this one video on here, theres probably 20 bad cops doing the same right now.Obviously not all cops are like that though.

This is why I drive with my ball cap forward and why I won't take a road trip to FL. I'm afraid of getting stopped for no reason, running my mouth, and ending up in a ditch or in the county jail. I have friend in Georgia that says police corruption still runs rampant down there.

I forgot to add, here in Baltimore the unmarked police officers would have just taken the camera and beat him up.

You and me both man. I just stay out of their way...and TRY to keep my mouth shut. It's really difficult when they're clearly in the wrong.

Yeah, down here in FL It's a whole NEW ball game now. Florida just passed a law where if your windows are tinted too dark the cops can pull you over just for that. :tisk:

I can still remember several cops in FL getting shot to death by a gun through a tinted window... so they got into the habit of calling the "DRIVER OUT OF THE CAR". I guess you'd have issues with that too?

They do that anyway in states like SD and WY. I've been asked to step out of the car and sit in the passenger seat of the trooper car. Not a big deal since you're not being cuffed or detained, and it keeps the officer from having to stand in the shoulder of the road where he's vulnerable. Helps control the situation and make the whole process safer for everyone.

Honestly, I'd kind of prefer to get out. It means the officer isn't stuck leaning through my window and I'm not stuck trying to fumble for my wallet while stuck in a seat.

you can actually get pretty mouthy with cops before they can actually do anything about it legally...other than give you a ticket instead of a warning. but i know my local pd and those ***holes dont give warnings. so you might as well have some fun with them :chuckle:
