Auto trans... It shifts hard into 2nd. Manual is out of the question since I bought this for my fiance. Is there anything I need to worry about or look closer at with the auto?

thats just how they roll. if you must fix it tho, u would have to have it rebuilt. the internal valves are more than likely not working right, hence having harsh shifts and slow shifts as well. clutches could be worn too if its slippin. if you had to have an auto, then i would go with something not OEM. i still have auto in mine, had it rebuilt, and it still shifts slow... because i didn't have the guy do the valves.... doh! oh well 5 speed later.

There is a guy at Vertex Motorsports in VA who has a nice 240SX with a racing auto transmission. He said some other shop in VA did a mod to the transmission so it shifts smoothly. I don't remember the name of the place he mentioned, though.

Other than that, yeah, the stock shifting sucks.
