Reminds me of this photo.

*EDIT* just realized for the first time that the blob on the right is a dude and the one on the left might be female.

I wore black but my pops is a old 80's metal head and it was mostly because metal shirts were black. Been playing guitar since he was 12, and I've played bass/guitar since I was 14.

I hung out with the "goffs" and emo kids/punks/skaters, whatever. Most of them smoked weed, and thats what we had in common. Through HS, i was just, grunge with guages, bracelets, metal shirts, piercings, etc most of my friends were Ravers...

But yes, now I am "normal"

I still dig tons of great metal, and frequently play the guitar.

I did lose my cool with a teacher though. I'd routinely come in after school, yell at her for a while, and eventually leave. It was a poorly implemented strategy that got me nowhere.

I remember when I was younger tons of goths used to hang out at the local mall, but by the time I got into high school most of them had disappeared. The closest thing in my high school was the whole emo thing which (as much as I hate to admit it) I kinda got sucked into for a short period of time. By the time we were getting ready to graduate most of us had more or less outgrown it though.

I was a goth/freak in HS, went into the Army after I graduated in 95 and was an even bigger Goth/Freak in the Army. Long story short I'm about as normal as the next guy. I need to get back into the whole Goth scene (if it even still exists).

All the chalk-faced weirdos hung out in one corner of my school; technically they were standing on the public sidewalk where it was legal for them to smoke and skip class. I occasionally enjoyed driving past their little corner on a rainy day and splashing them with dirty puddle water. It was my service to the community.

I wore jnco's for comfort.

my senior year of highschool we went to a "standardized dress code" which was a nice way of saying uniforms in that we either had to wear polo or button down shirts in three solid colors (navy, white and hunter green) with logos no bigger than a quarter and pants couldn't have more than five pockets.

it was really annoying as a lot of us had to buy clothes we'd never wear outside of school and did lots of whining.

but we also weren't as cliqueish so I guess the experiment worked.

for the record, jnco jeans f*** blow for durability. I walked around in walmart with my d!ck hanging out from a faulty zipper for a good half hour. I've since gone to just buying Levi's...they seem to be the best bang for the buck in jeans. YKK zippers keep my dong warm.
