My 94 Q needs a new MAF new ones looks to be about $450 and I found reman units for $260. Has anyone had any experience with reman MAFs? Would love to get by only spending $260 but don't want to end up with a piece of crap either.

Thanks

Nothing really goes wrong with MAF other than internal solder joints failing from vibration and temp cycles.

The solder repair takes an expert about an hour [with practice] plus time to harden the new rtv to seal housing and testing so $250 is fair price.

Soldering and troubleshooting electronics is a skill everyone should spend a year learning to develop.

Let's see, the original lasted 14 years at $458.95 (Joe's price), that would be $32.78 per annum.

How long do you think the remanufactured one will last? If it is only 7 years you lose money. Why are peopple constatntly surprised when they discover they are drving a $50K+ (in 1994 dollars) luxury imported V8?

I tend to agree with your thinking, however looking forward I may have this car another 3 years before I replace it so considering buying a less expensive part make sense if it can get the job done. If it can't I will gladly pay the full boat for OEM
