Hi, all.

Here is an eBay listing for a reman Q45 transmission.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=6780

Although it is not an Infiniti remanufactured transmission, the price of $950 is pretty darn good! Half the price you can get from anywhere else. :)

If you are looking for one to repair a dead one in your car, here is your chance!

if you don't trust ebay speeddoc's got a 94 transmission with 35k for $650 in buy/sell/trade section. if i had a dead transmission i would look at level ten, even though it will cost more.

I am aware of the differences in a 1st generation and second generation VH45DE in respect of the the heads and crank angle sensors.

Can anyone tell me the difference in a 1st generation and 2nd generation block ie short motor.

Until now, I have assumed that they are identical.

Regards

A good point - speeddoc knows his stuff, of course!

I should just note that this eBay listing caught my eye because it appeared to be posted from a transmission rebuilding/repair place who touted their skills and inventory pretty heavily rather than some random posting. I plan to keep their address on file, just in case I mess up my transmission again (I hope not though!) - 'cause "the price was right."

You are right! The 12 month warranty costs another $150 from them apparently. So the total becomes $1100 rather than $950 for equivalent warranty periods. But, still lower than the $1800 I paid Frontier Infiniti (they matched Scottsdales prices for me) some months back!
