its pretty much straight forward... i would recomment a slim battery but thats just my opinion. i have the relocation kit myself and wish i had got with the slim battery. run the power wire from the bay to the back and ground from somewhere in the front to the back. and bam lol. make sure u have a good ground

Yeah, it's very easy... just make sure your battery cables are well insulated. The last thing you need is to part of a massive electrical short in your gutted car... LOL.

Totally off topic... do we have TWO different NismoChicks on this board right now? Or are you constantly changing your avatar between two pictures? LOL.

the only time i've really smelt a battery is when it starts getting hot, which usually means theres either a problem or its just under a lot of load. but then again, i dont really have any first hand experience with a rear mounted battery. like someone else mentioned, i would probably just go with a slim battery. moving the battery to the back is not going to move a lot of weight, so if thats your reasoning behind it, you may want to reconsider.

make sure the cabling that your using is a heavy gauge with very fine strands. the finer the better. the cable used with welders actually works the best. and with your grounds, make sure you ground to the actual frame of the car. i have an 95 240sx and with my kit, i used the summit racing relocation kit, and mounted the box by using screws that already existed in the rear of the trunk, cut out holes in the carpet and matched everything together. i ran both the positive and negative cables under the car through the vent under the car on the right and grounded tothe frame and used cable tie mounts to run the postive cable up the wheel well and along the frame. it turned out looking and working great.

Clearly he's converting to diesel. LOL.

Seriously, though... either that's the prelude to some serious audio/video equipment or it's a complicated suicide device.

Battery fumes... yes unless it is a gel/maintenance free battery

They release hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) which is why PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING can add H2O to the batteries... please do not do it at all sulfuric acid (H2SO4) is not a fun thing to play around with... it burns

in brokeAs240sx's photo they are both gel

Last I heard, no, it hadn't been repainted. I guess the wheels got worked out and the owner is doing some performance stuff... that about as much as I know.

Alisha, if you can.. buy a universal battery box and relocate it with a Braille Battery.. they only weigh 11.5 pounds and retail for a little over 150 dollars, its a nice investment.. you can find the battery boxes at places like.. jegs or jcwhitney.. alot of the domestic places have them.
