I reloacated my battery(optimum red top) to my trunk. Ran 2ga. wire from battery in trunk to fuse box in engine compartment. Made a junction just before the fuse box connecting the two wires coming from the fuse box(starter/alternater) wires with the 2ga. wire coming from the trunk, then ran 2 ga. to the starter from that junction. Now it starts, but it starts hard. It will turn over 5-10 times before starting.....ANY IDEAS WHY?????

Double check your ground wire and make sure it's to bare metal and SOLID.

i second that, try running multiple grounds too, I relocated my yellow top to my trunk and had the same problem, and the solution was i needed more grounding.

Even if you have a good ground make sure you sand the area where the ground is located!

One good ground should be sufficient.

Make sure your ground goes to the frame as well, your flimsy trunk sheet metal wont do the job, and also make sure you use a properly sized wire, such as 4ga or even 0ga...ok maybe overkill on the 0ga but the idea on that is the resistance to the flow of amperage, in which case its better to overkill on wire gauge than undershoot the ideal size, i hope this helps your problem'

Check and see if your battery is going dead. I bought a battery that was dead right off the shelf, ****ing autozone.
