Ok. I was driving up I-81 to see the girlfriend on the Fourth. I'm in my Metro, buzzing a long at around 75. (an experience in itself) I'm moving along, minding my own business, when I happen to check my rear view.

I saw This.

No, it couldn't be....it IS!

Yes, true believers, in the distance, and rapidly getting closer, was a Ferrari Maranello. I slowed down to get a better look, allow him to pass me, and then tailgate him for the next 20 miles or so. (wouldn't you have?)

I went up along his side, got in front of him, got a look at the car from every angle. It was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes.

No one on the road seemed to care, so I kept my spot, oogling this work of art.

Then the unthinkable happened. A pace car edition Corvette came on the highway. The highway was filled, but I pulled back and let them flirt. 70, then 90, then 70 again. It was all I could do to keep up. (You just don't take a Metro too fast, unless you have a death wish.)

Finally, as I was getting off the exit, the road cleared. The two slowed down to 60, and then took off, engines screaming so loud I could hear them in my car. They rocketed down the road and out of sight.

Not 15 seconds later, after I had gotten onto 37 I met 2 Silver and Blue Impalas screaming down the road to get on 81.

*sigh* Just wanted to share.

as far as captain henreh's report, i'd have to say i'd be in the same state of shock. see, on the east coast. Ferrari's are a bit rare, unless you pass thru some really affluent areas, or near major cities. i know of only two 360's in my area. and they're heavenly.

Bah.

I live about as far away from california as you can live and still be in this country.

We don't have ferraris around here. You have to drive to like, Nova. And nothing good comes from there. (Cep my car.)
