So if one were to buy a complete swap (not the swap package for 4K) say a red top for 2500+shipping, does that have *everything* to get it running minus an intercooler? The wording on thier site is a little confusing because they talk about *complete* engine sets and yet I know from how much I have read on this subject (anything I could find on google and several how-to's) that you ALWAYS need to buy more than what is included with any company's "complete" swap.

Since you guys recommend them so highly (I'm referring to srswap.com) I hope you will shed some light on that.

cool. I did send them an email to check. Thanks for mentioning that you bought one from 'em. Just recommending a place vs recommending and you bought from there yanno. good stuff.

btw, did they say anything about the mileage on the engine? Typically there is the whole 30-60k or something but that is a massive range and a big difference. Do you know what your mileage was when you got it or what they said the range was?

240SXMotoring is also a good place... and if you buy the motor itself you'll only really need a Hotpipe, an Intercooler and a downpipe and maybe some other things that im forgetting about for it to run.

nissan uses gasket sealer from the factory. they do not use gaskets between the oil pans, etc.

ah 2500 was most of the things you'd need, I think it was just minus the IC, hotpipe, and downpipe like SR20DETPoweredS14 said.

They have a list that covered it at thier SR FAQ, which is basically what they told me. There are plenty of things that they suggest you do also, like a new clutch kit and some other junk like that, but I think they are saying so under the assumption that you will be pushing boost from the start. If you were to keep it at stock 7 until later there would be no need that I am aware of to replace all the things they say. I'd just go with an IC setup, the hotpipe and downpipe, and a BOV.

here's the link:

I got my S13 Blacktop from http://www.customcarperformance.com . I got it real fast and the engine was really clean and unmodified. Stock clutch etc. It runs beautiful. Motor set is 2700 shipped. Came with everything, all I needed to buy was FMIC, hot pipe etc (the usual to complete swap) and I used the MAF from my SOHC.

there was a real clean CA18DET there last week which was sold to a customer and the motors they had there all look clean
