Reliable and effective was to use 31" or 32" tires and STILL have clearance.

I know that many people have installed 31" tires on the trucks with the stock suspension, but I find that it looks odd and would think that they would rub ALOT. I am wondering what options there are to lift these trucks. I understand that the subframe drop is the way to go for lifting the R50 series as it takes the stress off the CV joints. I also am aware of the fact that these are not mass produced in the USA. I am basically wondering if anyone on here could give me a good idea of where to start looking for this, plus rough pricing estimates. Basically I am looking for a reliable way to fit 31" or 32" tires while still maintaining good clearance without cutting much off my fenders or wheel wells, hopefully without setting other parts of my suspension up for failure, such as the CV joints. I am completely new to lifting any vehicle, and I have alot to learn. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

31" isnt even that large... Go on stock suspension no problem, barely any rubbing (it will only rub in reverse w/ steering wheel at full lock) I have 31's right now and they are great in terms of acceleration, comfort, handling, etc They are just too small/skinny for deep beach sand, thats my only problem. 31" mud terrains I also had 32" BFG all terrains, they are too big for my weak 3.3 (and too big for my weak brakes) and I sold them within 6k miles. I got into one accident because of them But they are great in off-road, I did things with these tires that I can't do with my mud terrains 32's

88pathoffroad can't help it. He doesn't comprehend most things in a paragraph. I believe he skips over some the the important facts to get to what he believes is the meat of the topic.

I say this b/c a few months back I had the same problem with him posting a rediculous response to my inquiry about rear axle seals. He asked the exact same question when my sig specifically says 1997 qx4.

I agree. . I have my moments when I feel I'm getting short with people. . I think NICO needs a place like the moderator forum for regular users. I've become much calmer since they made me a mod, because I can run in there and cuss like a sailor for awhile -- yes, it's true.

ok, the truck is an R50 (2002 if it matters) Any more suggestions? I also plan on doing a search for old man emu lifts vs. AC lifts... but im still trying to gather info on my options. To throw in a weak excuse, I am currently deployed to iraq and have limited internet access and it really helps when knowledgeable people help me consolidate facts. Thanks again.

OME is about 1 or 1.5" of lift..... stiffer than stock but softer than AC.... a lot of people in Australian outback run this suspension so its gotta be hardcore, i believe it is a good mix between everything AC is 2" lift, largest springs you can buy as well as the stiffest Or you can do a 4" drop bracket lift, the original MudJayson one in Japan is $2500 USD (not including shipping) Tmorgan4 can make them here in the US and the cost is closer to $1000 This is a 96-04 Pathfinder with the 4" bracket lift as well as 2" lift springs up front and dodge coils in rear As well as 35" tires Thats the biggest you can ever get with IFS

That's pretty wicked!

I'd do that if I actually had enough time to do some 4x4ing.
