I am debating on buying another 240 as a daily driver. It's an 89 Se w/ 180k mls on it or round about. About 5 months ago it was rebuilt. Rebuilt very well, not some idiot w/ a sledge. It was bored 20 over and the heads are shaved. It was rebuilt to oem sepcs except for the boring and shaving. Assuming that it was broken in properly, what would the life of this engine more than likely be? I've never messed w/ rebuilt engines for any length of time. I need a car for college, so reliability is a major factor.

Depends all on you, how meticulous you are w/ your engine/maintenance/driving habits. Depends on how hard you drive your car, how much you modify your car, etc.

As a reference, there are plenty of members on this board who have 240's w/ 220k+ miles and not even rebuilt yet.

But then there are others who have cars not anywhere near that and blown up a few times, haha.

Almost any car can be reliable if you take the time to learn how to take care of it.
