Relentless Beeping

Alright, this is an issue that started on Friday morning and is still going on. it is hard to explain, so I will do my best.

When I went out to my car Friday Morning, I heard very faint beep when I was inside, before I even started the car. At first I thought my ears were ringing, but fiancee got in the car and heard it as well. I started the car and it continued, getting louder at times. I shut the car off, and tried to find where it was coming from. I have narrowed it down to the driver's side door panel, possibly the speaker. I called the dealership and they are lost as to what it could be. When their service tech saw it, he said he could order a new speaker and replace it, but that he is not sure that is the actual problem.

So needless to say, I am lost as to what it is. I have a speaker on order and it will be replaced for free. But I have never heard of a speaker just ringing, constantly, for days without the car even being on. I have never turned the radio all the way up, and mostly just listen to FM and AM radio at a reasonable volume.

Anyone else experience this?

We've had the little beeper inside the door (the one that beeps when you use the I-key) replaced twice this year under warranty because it shorted out. A very slow water leak when the car sat parked in rain for over 2 hours caused the problem. In our case the short caused a steady whine whether the ignition was on or off.

The first time they just replaced the beeper and it shorted again with the next rainstorm. The second time they replaced some rubber seals, too, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Doesn't sound like the same problem you're having but I'd have them check that beeper. We originally thought it was the speaker, too, and when I took it to the dealer they originally had no idea what it was until they took the door panel off.

Well on the day I was taking it to get fixed, it stopped beeping. And has not beeped since. Not sure what it was or if it will come back.

Thanks for the info, I will definately look into the beeper if it is to happen again.
