Some shots of the Q, finally got around to it.

Exterior

Interior

Under the Hood

Info you may or may not be interested in

I bought the Q used from a dealer in Jordan, MN about a month ago. He'd just gotten it the day previous, and I saw it driving by on my way down from the Twin Cities, where I'd been looking at a '95 Buick Riviera (that ended up being a pile). Took it for a drive, and was instantly in love. Get-up to spare, great seats, gorgeous interior, and in excellent condition inside and out. Tossed down a total of $3,195 on it, with a 15,000 mile powertrain warranty. She's sitting at 189,000 miles. There isn't a single speck of rust, the Potenzas have a good 70% of the wear left, and the wheels are premo.

So far, she's gotten a good clean with some Dawn dishwashing detergent, then the 3 stage Deep Crystal Meguiar's cleaning\wax system. I'd used the same system on my '78 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (R.I.P., blown headgasket and cracked manifold), and was always very happy with it. So she's got the first two layers, then three layers of the caranuba wax on top of it. There is much water-beadage when it rains. <grin> Windows are Rain-Xed, of course.

I just replaced the Bose head-unit this weekend with a Kenwood KDC-X789 deck. It's simply phenomonal - makes the system sound at least 40% better. Next weekend I'll be tossing in the amp and Infinity 12s (appropriate for an Infiniti car, I suppose).

As for things that are wrong with the car - there's the usual dings you get on the hood and front body from being a car with 190k on it. The previous owner had kept it touched up, but of course you can tell when you get up close.

The rear driver side window motor is shot - previous owner had it diagnosed but decided not to fix it.

The second switch for the sunroof is MIA - any suggestions on how to fix that?

The power antenna doesn't retract - it sounds like it's trying, and after some WD-40 it's getting closer. I think I'll get it there.

The driver and passenger seat have some mild cracking - again, to be expected of a car with 190k on it.

So, there's my little introduction.

Oh, and before anyone asks - yes, the guides have been replaced.

That would be entertaining to me, if it'd been your car. Yes, I did the guides. The previous owner had been a gentleman from Colorado, though. He left his insurance card in the car. Along with all the receipts, invoices, etc.

Nice ride! Good thing guides were done, there should be a lot of life in that thing! Welcome to Nico!

BTW, I'd ziptie this connector so that it's not laying on the valve cover. It looks like the wires are exposed and getting direct heat...that's not good.

Evan that picture really isnt anything worry about... Thats how it normally is, its just put on its little holder...

NICE Q.. I always preferred the 9093 green to the 94s, the 9093 is much darker green...

Welcome and read some old post for good washing techniques. Dawn actually isn't the best. The window motor can be found in our Infiniti classified section or e-bay very quickly. Check the transmission fluid to see if you need to flush and replace the transmission filter. You can get that kit from Joe our sponsor. Some BG BK44 is a good fuel system cleaner for the Q.

What second sunroof switch are you refering to? Joe has the main one pretty cheap as I have replaced mine in about 1 1/2 minutes.

I had to look in the driveway to make sure you didn't steal my car. That looks identical to my Q!

I wish my seats and original piepans were that nice at 190k.

Wes - thanks. :-) I really like the "Black Emerald Pearl" too.

redmanfx - I wanted to get the crappy wax the dealer had used removed - hence the Dawn. I use Meguiar's Gold Class for the regular washings. transmission fluid's good, and yes, it's the main switch for the sunroof. I'll have to grab that pretty soon here.

Jesda - Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised, particularly by the condition of the wheels. They're in AWESOME shape. The front leather's a bit cracked, but nothing overly noticable. Whoever the previous owner was, he babied it.

Nice Looking Car, but PLEASE get rid of the steering wheel cover!!! It really cheapens the look of the interior.

Nice score. Looks really clean, and I'd agree with changing the steering wheel cover but otherwise, looks like a nice ride!

As to the steering wheel cover - not much of an option at this point. The original leather is extremely worn down, and the thing gets hot as all hell during the summer. Once my financial situation gets a littl bit better I'm hoping to find a new wheel, but we'll see.

I suggest this cover:

Its black leather, blends in very well, and was only $15 at Wal-Mart.

Yeah, something like that would be perfect. Even a cheap leather cover you sew on would be better, and about the same price, and you can get that light color still.

Yours had the plastic guides? What's the build date (tag in driver's doorjam)?
