relation between VIN and serial number of engine

Hi everybody,

a guy wants to sell to me a used VQ35 engine and transmission that come from (supposedly) a 2005 G35 coupe 6 speed whitch would make it a ‘’rev-up’’ edition. I have the serial # of the engine but I have no way to verify for sure what car it came out of.

In order to verify the date of fabrication and to check if it doesn’t come from a stolen car I would like to know if somebody somewhere knows whitch VIN # car came out of the factory with whitch serial # engine. There must be a list of this info somewhere. I called infiniti usa consumer affairs and they answered to me that to know a date of fabrication they need the VIN# and the serial# of the engine alone is of no use.

Any suggestions as to where I should look for this kind of info would be greatly appreciated.
