My car just passed the PA inspection, and after I bought the car, I had the register and inspect it again, here in new jersey. Everything passed except for the windows. Both my door windows have tint on them, and I failed. I didn't tint the windows, but I realy like them like that so I don't want to remove the tint, besides it's not too bad, you can see me inside, not just shadows. I just need to pass the inspection so I'm thinking of going to a private gas station, but don't know what to do or say. How do I know which one to go to, and who will pass me for say a 6 pack of beer or some tip (and how much)?
Just curious, how do you guys with SR engines pass? What state?

i would suggest finding some guy who's in early 20s or soseems likeliest to do thatsomeone who doesn't look like some lil geek or something i supposeyea for something like windows i would say beer would do the trickdefinately hint at something before he inspects it thoughdont be likeoh u failed me for tinted windows? here have some beer

A LOT of stations will pass you. You have to pay for a private inspection though, don't know what they'll charge you to "give" you the sticker.
I liked the good ol days when you could get stickers for 10 bucks at the junkyard.

Not sure if this helps...but my friend had his SR, stock cat, stock exhaust, stock everything...he passed better than a KA, posted better emissions numbers and it ran quiet too since he was running a stock KA exhaust on his sr. So his car didn't raise any suspiciouns (sp?) . He even went to a state inspection station, not a private station, but they didn't do a visual check under the hood, otherwise he would have failed.

Yea, and we get inspected every 2 years. I got the car from PA and the owner said for them it's every year. Damn it's my fault for not rolling down the windows. I know I can't go back to the state inspection stations. They probably have it on record that I was rejected for tinted windows. With a private gas station I could just tell them my light was burnt out or something.
