There are known benefits to using nitrogen (95-98%purity): bragging rights as you're in the know; reduced fire danger; fluorescent green caps that go well with your spinning wheel covers and spoiler. The most important : save weight and increase performance, as nitrogen molecules are less dense than air.

Personal / anecdotal evidence belief : nitrogen won't hurt / can possible provide some minimal benefit. Is it worth it? Unless it's free, no.

My take on it : On -20C, the deflation was so noticeable in my recently purchased car, that even the sensor picked it up and showed me a nice a** icon on the dashboard. In the end, it's a marketing bs, as regular air is ~78% nitrogen anyway.

Daan, relax! It was a joke about gases and headlight fluids but nonetheless nitrogen is better! The point is that nitrogen IS a much better tire inflation gas. Oxygen, which is approximately 20-21 percent of air is absolutely horrid in terms of it's pressure change due to temperature. In racing, the typical cold-to-hot air-filled inflation pressure changed by at least 4-5 PSI, while nitrogen-filled tires changed by .25 to .5 PSI. A massive aid to car setup at the track. I was not suggesting everyone run out and do it. Just pointing out that it was actually a better thing!

Now, the headlight fluid is a different story...

W/E, and she won't need premium in that thing, either!

Since I was laid off in the last 6 months and work has been spotty, 87 will have to do but I guess that settles it, once I get new long term employment I'll be switching to at least 91 grade from a better gas station, ha.
