Regular gas (87 octane)

Is regular gas ok for the versa? Or do most of you go higher? And do you guys use synthetic motor oil or the regular?

Open the owners manual & read it. It says you must use 92 octane to not void the warranty

The lowest grade octane gas that your manual says is ok, that won't ping in your car.

For me, that's 87 basic unleaded from Arco.

87 octane is fine. No need to shell out extra dough for higher octane. Leave that for high perfomance cars or old junkers that need higher octane to help in the combustion process.

XV - I'm not a newbie, and I had/have no idea what you were expecting him to read into the smilies. (One reason I never use them.)

As for searching, I did so, and the Versa owners manual I have says "FUEL RECOMMENDATION. Use unleaded regular gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 AKI (Anti-Knock Index) number" so it would be hard for any of us to find the number you quoted, anyway.
