I own a 89 240sx Fastback 5 spdI own a 90 240sx Fastback AUTO SE

Now my lingering question:

My 90 240sx has a bad motor, except for the external parts. Now my 89 isnt an SE, but what is the difference b/w the SE and the Regular? More HP?

If there is More HP/Performance in an SE, then what parts could I take off my 90' SE to put on my 89' Regular to maximize performance. Are the injectors different? MAFS different? Ignition Coil? Any other parts that are on the SE yeilding more HP then regular?

This question has been on my mind for the longest, and I would appreciate any logical replies :)

Thank you

-Chris

i dont think that is ne hp increase in the models. just the addition of sunroof, side skirts, white gauges, leather, and so on..

the engines are the same. the se represents the trim level. all cosmetic differences, none performance wise.

there's actually only two models for 89-90.... there's the SE and XE (base)... all the fastback were consider to be the SE model while the coupe was the base model. as for the extra equipment, it isn't true that the se model get many extra stuff. it's more like getting optionals equipment from the factory.

no.

...and wider tires

i can't say for sure, but the SEs may have come with 205s instead of the standard 195 series tires.

I have a 92 Fastback SE, it came with 205s, stiffer springs and SuperHicas. It's a Gold Edition, and the only thing that I can find different with this is that it has gold center caps on the stock rims and gold Nissan badges front & rear.

ok, this pertains to 89-90 models only...91+ is different...

SE=fastbackXE=coupe

they both had all sorts of trim levels from very basic to beefier suspension parts <ie a little thicker swaybars,coil springs> & 205s tires...

no LSDs in those 1st 2 years <us>

i thought the 89-90 model had the option for HICAS, which would mean that the LSD was avaliable since all HICAS equipped cars had an LSD
