Move to Mississippi! :D

Really though, there's no definite way to get around it. One of my ideas I thought of is to get a custom header that goes to the downpipe that eliminates the turbo. Make the thing run NA and use an AFC to lean the ****ens out of it. Also, try to fit an extra cat on there somewhere, that might help. Other then that, I have no clue besides bribe money.

You can also try unplugging two opposing injectors and make it run on two cylinders!

It fails the legality just due to the fact that it is a foreign motor never sold here. if you can find a shop that will pass it knowing that then odds are they'd pass it even if its dirty.

I was told/read somewhere that it will pass the test but not the visual. To do it legally, one will have to go to the state "BAR" referee to have everything inspected. When it passes then the car will have a permanent ID with the engine so the smog place can run it in their dyno. That will cost around $5k as I was told.

either way, lots of $$$

another option. have it registered in - AZ, NV by a family member who lives there. I really don't know the restrictions there but I'm sure its more lenient than this state (CA).

p.s. I've had to smog my car in "test only centers" for 2x now because I think it registers as a gross polluter. Still passes though. Although the guy had to run it 3x to pass.
