Hey, brand new here. Im a vette guy, but used to have a 89 S13 with S14 SR swap years ago(tons of fun, miss that car except for the constant turning wrenches) Anyway, my best friend has a S15. He got a bill of sale, and 2 different export certificates. He lives in MD and theres zero chance of anything happening up there. Im brand new to Florida but my understanding is FL is one of the easiest places to register cars like this. Hell sign/give or whatever the car to me to get it registered if possible(best friends for longer then i can remember so its no big deal) I couldnt find anything on the DMV's site so Im turning to you all. Anyone done this? Also what shops are local to the Orlando area that deal with Nissans and possibly importing.
Thanks,
John

I did. Im getting mixed opinions. I called customs. Seems like a Silvia isnt legit to have in the US at all. Even as a show car, if a customs agent walked past it, and wanted to make something of it, the car would be history. Now heres the conflicting part. The DMV said they need a 17 digit VIN and a bill of laden. Customs said they basically keep the "VIN" and work from there. Customs did also say Florida would be one of the easiest places to get the car registered.

Is it legal to register? short answer... no

Could you get it recognized as an 'off road or show use only' car? with the correct paperwork
