Hey guys searching I came across a 06 M45 for a real good price, the vehicle has a rebuilt title and is 1 state away from me. If i buy it can I register the vehicle right away? I know with salvage titles you have to apply for a inspection, but rebuilt titles already have passed that right? So I should have no issue with registration in my state? I have owned many rebuilt title cars but I am not sure how it is when buying a rebuilt title in a different state and then registering it in the new state. Any dmv workers here perhaps? Thanks for any info

Not sure about your question but differest States call it by a different name - in other words one States "Salvage" is another State's "rebuilt".

Keep in mind that resale will be maybe 50% off current trade-in values plus no dealer will ever take it in trade. And 99% of the population will not consider buying a salvage/rebuilt. Also, I believe your Factory Waranty is voided as well and you will not be able to buy an extended warranty either. So, if you are comfortable with all of the above, go for it.

My EX-brother-in-law bought and sold totaled cars (he had a body shop and mechanic that did the work; he attended insurance auctions) and after seeing what these cars looked like before (and some of the "questionable" repairs being done) I vowed to NEVER buy one. Sounds like you've had OK luck, however.

Yah here in ct particularity in my area, the totaled car business is HUGE. we have a coprat facility down the st so we have many garages here but of courses some don't have a clu how to repair a car others suck at paint, so it's a matter of finding the right guy. The warranty is void, im not worrying about that, I will prolly sell it but just have to make sure that it can be registered in ct.

All great sources the garages use to find a salvage car, you can get some awesome deals!
