Hi all

I wounder a few things regarding the:"99-02-SR20det Notchtop (S15 blacktop T28 turbo VVT intake & exhaust 252hp 243tq 10psi)"

Does that engine come with a 6 speed gearbox and if so is the clutch diffrent from the standard?.

Also. If you where to mount it in a normal 240SX body would there be any diffrence from a normal SR20DET swapp?

Just curiuse, did not find any real threads about this subject (252hp version)...

Is that engine very rare?

Oh and when I'm at it. Would you mind telling me the best places for buying for example ECU's and Harness för this specific engine?(if you know then I gues typing it here in this thread won't take much time:-) ).. thanks! :)

They should come with 6 speeds though there was a 5 speed version available. The clutch for the 6 speed is not compatible with the SR 5 speeds.

The engine may sit slightly high in an S13 and you need to make custom transmission mounts for the transmission.

The engine isnt rare so much as it is expensive. The only difference between the 1999-2002 SR20 and the 1994-1998 SR20 is the injectors, turbo and transmission.

Look on ebay for S15 wiring harness's and ECU's, since very few people have the S15 engine, the prices for these items should be around $250 each.

There is a ton of things you dont know about this engine which make it less than ideal to install, I would look at getting the S14 (1994-1998) SR20DET instead. For the S15 swap you need the rear differential since that is where the speed sensor is located, and you need to find a way to wire up the speedometer which is not easy at all.
