I have noticed that lately when I fill up with gas in my '04 G35 coupe, the pump seems to automatically shut off prematurely. The gas gauge shows 1/16th below full and won't go higher. I try to add more gas but can't. I had this problem with a honda accord also. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Most likely your gauge or the valve needs to be changed. There was couple of members having problem with the valve. Take it to the dealer and they will replace it for you.

I had this problem right when I bought mine last year. I figured out that I could stick the nozzle about halfway and it'll go and it went away on its own, haven't had a problem since. Not sure if it was just due to it just being new or if it fixed itself. But this is a pretty well known issue on the earlier models.

I have sorta the same problem. Mine just will stop taking fuel into the tank at about a lil over 3/4 full. I have to like wait for it to settle down and then i have to slowly pump the rest of the way, Is that normal or should i have the dealership check it out.

Try running your vehicle until the fuel warning light comes on. Reset odometer to zero & fill tank. When mine comes on I've usually gone about 400 miles. I have a 20 gal tank & when I fill up it takes usually between 16.5 & 17 gal. If your vehicle takes a similar amount of gas when the warning light comes on it doesn't matter that the gauge shows slightly below full. Your tank is full & thats all that matters.Place the issue in the "who gives a #hit folder" & save your moneyJust my opinion!
