Ok I heard this rumor that an SR can be legalized in California by tricking out the Referee. You buy a messed up 1992-95 Sentra SE-R or 1992-95 Infinity G20. Then, You tell the referee that you swapped the SR20 into your 240sx with an SR20DE. ( I know it is impossible since one is front wheel drive or rear wheel drive) Then, the referee ill look at the motor and the vin number and he has to pass you since the vin# is under your name in both cars. Somehow, you use all of the emission units from the sentra to the 240sx SR and magically the referee passes you since both 240sx JDM SR20DE and US SR20DE use the same emission units. Once you get the referee sticker stamped in your car you can swap any SR20DET. When you get pulled over you show the referee sticker to the cops indicating that you have a SR20DE and cops have to buy it!!! they cant go against a legal referee sticker and you will never have to worry about getting your car impounded and crushed for having an illegal engine since the referee passes it for you.

Is all this true? what you guys think? In the end you are using just the emission units not the engine itself and you are using the RWD SR20DE.
