Redtop to blacktop vct?

Hmm hard decision. i just recently spun a rod bearing in my redtop im thinking either of rebuilding or getting the blacktop vct motor. What all is needed to do the changeover? would i need a new harness and ecu? and will my intake and exhaust manifolds from the red top bolt onto the blacktop

just rebuild the red top man, what black top do you speak of? s14 notch top or s15? search around and read up. if i were you, just rebuild the red top with some head work and a built bottom end, if your going to dump the money into a new swap just build the $hit outa your red top

thats what i did i bought a spare motor that had a spun rod and i ended up rebuilding it hoping to get around 400hp the bottom end is done but the head is still waiting for more funds at the moment gl man

Yeah the notchtop i was either thinkin of goin that route but thats only if like my parts from my redtop would bolt onto that haha thats what i was just trying to figure out because i got mad parts into that car and if it wouldnt bolt up right i was just going to do the rebuild

I'm tired of it being called VCT and VVT.

Intercooler piping won't match up.

Intake Manifold will not swap over.

If you have Turbo lines, those wont either.

VTC on my sr20det black top is getting disabled too, thanks to the vtc solenoid on the intake side going bad my sr20 sounds like a diesel engine

screw vtc that sh** sucks go for tha redtop or black top s13 better for building anyway or get a s13 head and put it on tha s14 block
