Redtop SR20DET engine questions

What I want from this thread is to compile as much information as possible for things that have not been answered.

Whatever I see on this sub-forum that fits what Im making this thread for; I'll add and direct others to this link and have it on my signature. You can also ask questions that you think havent been answered.

Heres the first question which I could not find on the fsm (because we only have an s14 fsm) nor while searching:

Question:What is this above the pressure sensor plug? I unbolted the bolt and found a spring underneath. I was wondering if I could bolt my oil temp sensor on there since it fits. Also, whats the hex bolt that goes into the block for? Both circled.

That pug in the oil filter adapter is just that, a plug. It's there for you to add things like your oil temp sensor. As long as it screws in and properly seals then you can use it.

The hex bolt plug is for draining the coolant out of the block. Very helpful when you have to pull the motor and don't want coolant leaking everywhere.

Edit: Sorry, I thought you were refering to that big plug behind the oil filter adapter. The smaller hex bolt plug might be for oil, not 100% sure on that.

I was thinking of putting my oil temp on there since the autometer adapter fits but is a little bit longer. Nothing that a couple of flat washers and a rubber gorment can't solve.

New question:Is the knock sensor only one wire with a ground around it? (Mine has a ground wire but at the end that bolts to the block, it stops and wraps around the wire and not hooked up.
